Female Bowerbird

Satin Bowerbird (Ptilonorhynchus violaceus)

There are not too many female birds that outshine their male partner's plumage, but I think this is a good example.

The female Satin Bowerbirds sport this gorgeous olive-green, scalloped patterning on their underbody and brown wings that mimic the colour of the mulch in the undestory of the forest.

The male has a glossy blue-black plumage and shares the stunning violet-blue eyes with their female partners.

I will respond to your kind comments as soon as I can. Thanks for dropping by!

@Dimitrios: Yes, she is real. I have never seen one before. When she jumped out from the cover of the vegetation, I nearly missed her because I was so surprised!
