+++ The 12 Apostles +++
This angle is the most well-known southern coastline scene along the Great Ocean Road. The Twelve Apostles are a series of limestone stacks that have endured the erosion of the great southern ocean tides and storms.
I do not believe that there were ever 12 limestone stacks standing together at one time. The ever-changing face of the coastline over the past few decades is beautifully illustrated in this superb HD video by Phil Selmes that shows clearly how erosion causes collapses and creates stacks.
