St. Uzec: (Chritianised Menhir)


This menhir is extraordinary for many reasons. Tucked away in Brittany, this massive stone menhir stands at least 6 metres high if not more.


It was been Christianised around 1674. There are still carvings and a cross at the top in the present day. In the past it was also painted. You can see this by visiting the link at Ancient Wisdom

I am reminded of the character Obelisk who keeps carrying Menhirs....in the Asterix Comic Series :))
