The creation of the Ogoh Ogoh

Posted by
: Helen : (who is currently photographing in, Australia) on 28 March 2016 in Lifestyle & Culture.

As mentioned in a previous post. Nyepi is the name for the Balinese New Year. It is preceded by many other rituals and festivals.

During Melasti, the 6 days prior to Nyepi, the young and old in all villages and districts are feverishly making Ogoh Ogoh.

Ogoh Ogoh are terrifying monster figures that will paraded throughout the villages and streets on the day prior to Nyepi. More tomorrow ...
