Pashupatinath, Nepal

World Heritage site, Pashupatinath, is one of the most holy cities for Hindu people. Upon arrival you walk along a pathway along the bank of the holy Bagmati river.

The city is populated by monkeys, of which I do not recall seeing a great number as my attention was drawn immediately to the Ghats that line the far side of the river.

It is here the devotions and cremations occur. This area is considered the best place to be cremated as the Bagmati flows into the Ganges River. The city swirls with people either coming to give there devotions and pray or families who come to cremate their loved ones.

Thankfully, Pashupatinath sustained minimal damage during the April, 2015 earthquake.
