It is very hot now we have left the village. There are still hours of trail to walk and there is still "the hard bit" awaiting for me to climb.
It is about 36 degrees Celsius. The discomfort was greater due to the fires set by the villagers at this time of year. Slash and burn cultures choose April every year to burn off the undergrowth to fertilize poor mountainous soils. These days there is a persistent smoke haze that envelops South-East Asia.
The fire in the bushes along the track heated the rocks that in turn absorbed and radiated extra heat. I was so hot and bothered I didn't take any photos. Now THAT tells you how challenging the walk back was.
Despite the walk home, the day was fabulous and well worth the visit. I hope you enjoyed it too?
I will respond to your kind comments as soon as I can. Thanks for dropping by!
