Ship in distress!!!

I chose this photo to kick off my participation in this theme because it is a fluke shot. I was in a situation where unexpectedly, a fireworks show suddenly blew up in front of me. As I pulled out my camera in a hurry to grab a shot, cursing myself for not having studied up on shutter speeds after I had promised myself numerous times that I would.

I browsed the information about the theme and followed the 10 Photography Assignments to Hone your Skills link. Well there it was 'Shutter Prioity Mode'.

This is an opportunity for me to learn how to manage some of the wonderful effects I see produced by other Am3 photographers. Hopefully I will get the time and opportunities to improve my skills.

Thansk for the suggestion Am3!

Canon EOS 40D 1/15 second F/5.0 ISO 800 70 mm

I will respond to your kind comments as soon as I can. Thanks for dropping by!

A hurried shot that turned into a fantastic image. By the help of others on this site, we are all increasing our knowledge and efforts. Thanx for sharing. The only feedback I can provide is keep up the great work.
