In his first 2 weeks, this little rhesus macaque would had nursed exclusively before beginning to experiment with solid food. At about four months of age, his mother would have begun weaning him so he would be eating independently prior to the birth of the next sibling (Fooden 2000).
He would have been about five days old when he first left his mother to begin exploring his world and by about the third week he would have left his mother and contact as frequently as possible (Lindburg 1971).
