Pinecone on the sandPosted by Helen (Melbourne, Australia) on 8 May 2008 in Plant & Nature. I am taking a rest from Children of Thailand and thought I'd post a few more shots that I took down at the beach the other day. Raindrops in the Sand was the first in this series. I was experimenting with settings and with angles. Constructive feedback is your greatest compliment; caring enough to bother saying something ... thanks for visiting! Visit my site - www.warnod.net

amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaLove this in the b/w!! Maybe a little darker, though... just a titch. The details are fabulous as well as how you've framed this. And I also think that shallow dof is excellent (as we all know, I'm shallow!! LOL). 8 May 2008 2:39pm @amy: Thanks Amy! It is fabulous to get some feedback like that. Now I look at it again with fresh eyes, it is obviously too light. It's a shame we do not live closer. Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesWow, too! The framing is outstanding; I would have maybe tried some hi-contrast BW processing to bring out the texture to create a "rougher" look to the pine cone and sand. I also think Amy's suggestion is excellent as the more straightforward alternative to a just slightly too light but excellent composition. 9 May 2008 12:43am |
