Children of Thailand 5

Posted by Helen (Melbourne, Australia) on 21 April 2008 in People & Portrait.

When I was taking photographs of other children in the village, this little poppet moved closer and closer to me. I took this photo just before she gave into her curiosity and walked over to me.

Impressions of Nepal
In the next period of time you will be experiencing a range of photos from my recent visit to Nepal.

It is with great sadness that upon my return home to Australia, I learned of the recent disaster on Mt Everest. During my time in Kathmandu, I met many trekkers heading toward Everest base-camp and many of them keen to make it to the summit.
I am greatly saddened that the greatest casualties occurred amongst the Sherpa community. The people of Nepal are wonderfully open, friendly and generous. I would be greatly comforted if all of you would spend one minute thinking of the Sherpa men who died preparing the pathway for foreigners to climb to the summit.

Constructive feedback is your greatest compliment; thanks for visiting!
