This photo is the second in a series of photos that registers my protest against vandalism and demonstrates how much I value Multiculturalism. I have changed my mind about posting number 3 in this series as it was quite powerful and I was concerned someone may misinterpret my message or intent.
The photos are of a series of glass panels displaying information about immigrant nations from A-Z that were recently damaged by a vandal armed with a sledgehammer. This important tribute to immigrants was part of a redevelopment of the Sandridge Bridge over the Yarra in Melbourne City.
You can see a part of one panel that was spared in Global Economy post.
Constructive feedback is your greatest compliment; caring enough to bother saying something ... thanks for visiting!
Nice shot Helen. I support the views you express also. I guess we are ALL immigrants to some degree if we look back far enough. I for one would love to see the third image you mention. In my view, photography as an artform is subjective and the more emotion it triggers, the better.

well composed, as to my views have not changed....

You've defied the vandals by creating something beautiful out of their mess. Well done! Multiculturalism is great as long as it is not being done at the expense of one group for the profit of another. One thing is for sure: if we were all to respect each other there would be no room for the biggest vandals of all (the politicians).

I think you should post the third image (well only you know for sure) because I think you've made your point of view quite clear, and for me strangely enough and not having seen the full original series of panels before the destruction, I would say your image is quite beautiful. Sorry, that's a real run-on sentence. I mean that it's so beautiful, it's hard to imagine it as destruction. Perhaps that third panel painful as it must be will bring it more into perspective. I'm with Tony above.

Impressive intricate patterns, turning ugly works into beauties. Would like to see the third one, too.
Agree with all the above, would love to see a time when finally everybody tolerates and respects each other instead of forcing views or rules(?) upon each other.

Oh Helen.... how could something so destructive be so amazing in pattern. I too feel as the others and truly support you in your voice here in these images. And I too wish you would post the third. And this time Matt said it before I could...
