Bell Miner 1Posted by Helen (Melbourne, Australia) on 11 July 2007 in Animal & Insect. This photo is inspired by and dedicated to my Am3 friend Matt Trujillo who generously shot his Sparrow series for me. I deeply appreciated that gift. I went out early this morning in the 6°C fog and found this Bell Miner Manorina melanophrys. I have never seen this elusive bird so close before. The Bell Miner or Bell bird has a very distinctive call. You can hear it here Constructive feedback is your greatest compliment; caring enough to bother saying something ... thanks for visiting! I like this little bird. In France we call this kind of bird "verdier". Have a good day 11 Jul 2007 7:33pm Amy from Rocky Mountain House, CanadaWonderful capture Helen!! And what a delightful looking little bird he is.. now if only I had speakers here at the office where I have highspeed.. sigh. ;-) 11 Jul 2007 8:18pm Matt Trujillo Photography from Portland, United StatesWhat a remarkable little animal. I am ever amazed by the odd shapes created on your continent. I'll be a day behind in comments, as I don't favor the spotlight as much as some. Sincere thanks Mobius to you. 13 Jul 2007 3:21am |
