Tiger Leaping Gorge again

Posted by Helen (Melbourne, Australia) on 23 May 2007 in Landscape & Rural.

Continuing from yesterday .... Tiger Leaping Gorge is also reputedly:
- a gorge where a tiger once leapt onto this midstream rock to cross the turbulent Yangzhe rapids to escape from hunters.
- a place where the powerful Yangzhe is channeled into a narrow section between cliffs only 30 meters (33 yards) wide.
- You can understand the scale and power of this river if you look carefully left and right you can see people

Dramatic view! This is a view very common in mountains around my city. I feel somewhat close watching this.

Awesome view that you have captured. Is the stream always muddy like this?

23 May 2007 7:47am

@Anup: Yes, the Yangzhe continues to carve its way through the mountains and transports the silt downriver.
