Shuva from Hyderabad, India

I think cropping off the sky and half of the mountain would have made it look better.

Can't fathom the previous comment - the plume of smoke over in the hills is the detail which binds the whole - these are smooth rich colors, and another little treasure Helen!

Lovely , lovely what a peaceful and calming shot. I like the smoke too, and the ripples on the water and the texture of the wood is terrific.

I can't even dream of a place like this. This photo is has taken into consideration all the traits of great photography. The ripples of the water lead straight to the pier and the pier leads to the ripples aswell. You've even incorporated the rule of 3rds. All in all I have to applaud you for your compostion. If I could change anything about this picture would be to darken the highlights in the distance to really show off that puff of smoke coming from the mountain in the right corner of the picture. It looks like a bush fire.

@Colour blind: Thanks so much for your comments Kelly.
The smoke, I hope, was a fire. Many tribes still use slash and burn agricultural methods. At this time there was also a bit of trouble between Government soldiers and Shan tribes in the area. I hope it was not something more insidious.

purelysnow from Chengdu, China

This is definitely my favorite photo so far among the rest of your gorgeous pictures. It's beautiful, it's intriguing, and there's even an optical illusion. Awesome.
