sunstrokePosted by Helen (Melbourne, Australia) on 18 December 2006 in Animal & Insect. The other day when it was very hot, this magpie hung around my chair thinking it might get a look in at some of my sandwich. As it waited patiently in the sun it started looking more and more demented ... I think it suffered sunstroke. And Helen with such a good heart, there should be more of us on the planet ;) 18 Dec 2006 9:25am Stu from Kyoto, Japani think he might be trying to hypnotize you into giving him your sandwich! ;-) p.s. thanks for taking the time to Google Koi! 18 Dec 2006 10:29am Ali-G from Ottawa, CanadaHmmmm - starting to get sea-sick just looking at this bird - my monitor is starting to spin! 18 Dec 2006 4:01pm Damon Schreiber from Toronto, CanadaQuite an effective beggar, this one. I think I would've given in as well. As to photoshop, if you wanted to make his left eye more visible, I'd suggest going to Image>Adjust>Shadow/Highlight (but you'd need a fairly recent version of Photoshop - I think from CS1 up) or you could try your luck with the dodge tool - remember to keep the exposure adjustment on this tool low (I usually use about 10% to avoid overdoing it). 18 Dec 2006 4:46pm @Damon Schreiber: Thanks Damon. Unfortunately, I don't have the Image>Adjust>Shadow/Highlight tool but I am now playing around with the dodge tool. Mmm, I can see loads of things I could do with this, thanks for your support, you can see I am a Photoshop beginner. Martine Lapointe from Québec, CanadaNice shot! Flow Damon's intructions. Probabley it will enhance the picture. Good luck! 18 Dec 2006 5:52pm Craiger from Vacaville, United StatesGreat shot! Good timing! Yes, Damon's advise is good. You might also try using the sharpen tool or sharpen filter on the birds head and eye. You could also try selecting his eye color and increasing the saturation a bit or give it more tint with the brush tool. I can't tell you how many classic shots I've got that the exposure or focus was just far enough out that I couldn't use photoshop to tweek it. Best of luck to you Helen! 19 Dec 2006 10:48pm |
