Pelican performing "last minute personal ~ ahem ~ funk-check" spotted on a walk around my lake a few days ago.

ha - great capture The branches in the back coming out of the water almost appear like giant bird wings like some huge creature is about to come from the dark depths and eat those unsuspecting birds.

You've really captured a bit of humanity in these birds. Next time you're waiting in a crowd to get on an airplane, pull the move that center bird is making. Be obvious. Sniff hard, perhaps turning to a companion and asking, "Do you SMELL that?". Then quickly look to your left and your right. You'll see the same pellicans standing right next to you.
