Martine Lapointe from Québec, Canada

Wow, very nice shot! Did it stay on the branch a long time?

@Martine Lapointe: It was transfixed by the light for a time, then hopped away. It was there for quite sometime whilst I dithered around getting organised. My first shot was blurred.

Ryan Yam from Quezon City, Philippines

Very detailed shot :) However maybe you could have played around with the lighting in photoshop to really bring out the color of the frog and lessened the shadows on its other eye.

Another alternative to this shot is to fill the frame with the frog by cropping it. Or you could leave the branch but position the frog off center (rule of thirds) :)

@Ryan Yam: I like your first idea Ryan. I have PhotoShop but ,unforntunately, do not have the faintest idea how to play around with the lighting and lessen shadows. I am off to try the cropping now. Thanks!

I like it a lot. The dark tones really emphasise the subject.
